I am going to try and challenge myself into creating my own version of this tricky photograph! I love the way he has created a picture quite like ' The Secret Garden'. The way in which the sun is swooping through the side corner of the door looks very effective and gives of a warm feel. It quite looks like a dream of escapism from a cold dark world, into a welcoming environment, as soon as you step through the entrance.
Leszek Bujnowski is a passionate photographer from Poland. Most of his photographs are very dark and unusual, they look adventurous and un-earthly. He is known for his digital manipulation. He uses lights to create strange effects. There is not much said about himself, but there is a lot of work of his! He has created an cover for a studio album by 'Mystery', the photograph was originally named 'Rainy Circus'. I like his photographs as they are very unique,he as a very creative imagination. The way in which he creates an effect with light is amazing, and the photographs always tell some sort of strange story.
George Christaki-
George Christakis, aged 24 and born in Crete. Already renowned in industry for these scenes and many photographs retouched.
The way in which the the plane is crashing into the rocks doesn't create mystery, but it brings a chilling feel. Looking closely, you will notice a man standing on the front of the plane almost like he is steering it. The weather in this image also looks very gloomy and dull, which may reflect the way that the man is feeling, which is pathetic fallacy. This is a very clever photograph when you think about it. It is a low angle shot which shows underneath of the plane. As well as this the way in which the plane is on a slight slant is very effective.
The way in which George Christaki has created this 'floating' rock is very imaginative. He has used quite dark colours which make the photograph look gloomy and quite scary. The rock itself is on a power spot which makes it look strong. As well as this, the tree which is on the rock isn't in the centre of it, it is on the side which is very effective,
I love the galaxy like sky, the red/purple colour that brakes through in certain parts complements the bright grass very well. The light on the horizon looks very mysterious and clearly breaks up the different elements of the image. It is simple but effective, that is why I like it. I want to try to create something like this.
WEIRD AND WONDERFUL PLAN!
- Create an image where it looks like fairies are walking in water.
- A picture of a 'universe'.
- Fairy on grass (in bright dress).
- Picture of my cat as a 'time keeper' sunset(night) in one eye, sun in the other, clock face on her collar.
- Giants on buildings in town.
- Giant leaning on the Hilton.
- Fairy's on rocks.
- A person flying.
- Zombie - scary surrealism.
- Princess next to a posh building.
What comes to mind when I hear the term 'Weird and Wonderful' ?
Lots of things come to mind when I think of the project 'weird and wonderful', but actually creating the photos is the tricky part. It could be by taking photographs of natural wonderful things, such as waves or amazing landscapes. Also, fairy-tales pop up into my head, princesses, giants and fairy's. There are many things that you could create with weird and wonderful. Such as surrealism, you could make somebody look as if they are floating out of a window, or give them an extra eye! You could even make a whole load of zombies. Anything strange or uniquely beautiful could come under the category of Weird and Wonderful.

Practicing on photoshop-
This is the first ever picture I edited on photoshop. I created a look of surrealism, as you would never see a cat with a clock instead of its left eye! It was quite tricky to use at first but once everything was explained I developed an understanding for photoshop. I love how the clock is faded into the eye, with the actual peaking out slightly to bring colour to the photo.
My edited photographs-
I love the colours in this photograph. It really looks unique and magical. Part of the tree is on a power-spot but then it branches out showing the galaxy like sky!
Process of editing this photograph:
Firstly, I had taken this photograph of the tree on a Media trip to the City Centre last year, I was thinking of interesting things to do with this image. When playing around on 'Pic Monkey' I came across an effect which looked like a galaxy, I instantly liked this as soon as I saw it. All I did then was change the contrast to make it slightly brighter. As the tree was so dark, the galaxy effect didn't go over it. This is a good thing as I wanted it to look like the sky was a galaxy and it does, if the effect covered the tree it would not look right.

I like this picture as it makes you think why is there a sun set and blue sky in each eye along with a clock on the cats collar! This is because I wanted to make the image look as if the cat is like a 'time-keeper' and shows the change in day from night. Which is why she has a sunset in one eye and the day time in another, along with the clock hanging on the collar.
The process of editing this photograph;
Firstly, I photographed my cat. Then I searched for my holiday pictures from Turkey 2011, which is where I had got the photograph of the sunset and the beach from. Thirdly, I took a photo of a my clock in my living room.
First, I put the picture of the cat as the background on photo-shop. Secondly, I created a new layer then I used the cutting tool to cut out the clock and remove the background so that I could apply it to the picture of the cat. Then, I reduced its size so it could hand of the collar instead of a bell being there. I also added another layer along with a image of the sunset to the background picture, and reduced its size so it fitted into her eye. I erased the outline to create the shape of an eye and not a rectangle. After this, I faded the sunset photograph slightly so you could see a bit of her pupil popping through. In addition to this, I added one more layer and a last image of the the beach in the daytime to the background picture, and reduced its size so it fitted into her right eye. I erased the outline to create the shape of an eye and not a rectangle. Eventually, I faded the beach photograph slightly so you could see some of her eye coming through. Finally, I edited this image on 'PicMonkey', where I changed the contrast to make the colours stronger.

This photograph is very pretty, it is also simple. The stand is on a power-spot which doesn't make the picture look boring. The bright pink colours of the dress, shoes and wings really pop out on the green grass.
The process of editing this photograph;
I had taken the background picture already on the trip to Wales. At home I was thinking that I wanted to create something that relates to fairy's as they are magical; and fit well into the weird and wonderful project! I went into town and bought a tiara and fairy wings. One day after school my friend came round to help me out and be silly dressing up as a fairy. I tried to get similar lighting to the Wales photographs because I thought that i'd be using a lot of the images from there, this was quite difficult. After taking these photographs I emailed them to myself on my school email ready for school to start editing.
Firstly, I put the picture of the stand as the background on photo-shop. I then created a new layer for the fairy figure. Next I used the cutting tool to cut the fairy of its background. I then faded the fairy slightly to make it look as if it slowly disappearing. After this, I used the eraser to smooth out the rough edges of the figure to make it look more realistic. Lastly, I changed the contrast on 'PicMonkey' to make the pink dress even brighter.

I like this picture because there is only a few scary figures here, not a lot so it looks over the top. The dull, rough rocks in the background give of a chilling effect to match the figures.
Process of editing this photo;
I had already taken these photographs, the background from a beach in Wales for the photography trip. As well as this, I had taken the picture of the little girl in Media. Therefore, I already had these images on my school account.
Firstly, I uploaded the background picture of the beach. Secondly, I created a new layer and put the image of the girl onto it. I used the cutting tool to cut the figure from its background. Next, I used the fading tool so you can see parts of the beach through the body to give it a ghostly effect. Also, I created various other layer and copied and pasted the edited figure and placed them in different parts of the background.

My weaker image.
Although, I envisioned this photograph to be really good, it didn't turn out how I wanted it to. I didn't take the photographs of my friend to match the shapes of the rocks, so the edit doesn't work well. It should look as if the 'fairies' are sat or stood up on the rocks and it doesn't. Also, the lighting of the original 'fairy' pictures wasn't correct for the lighting of the rocks in Wales. Furthermore, the outline of the fairy is clear and looks rough, I should have blurred it slightly on photo-shop.
My final piece.
This is one of my favourite images. It was quite simple to do but looks very effective! I love the way in which it is the exact same image of the fairy but all 3 are fading away less and less the further they are. It looks as if the fairy is walking away, leaving a magical trail of itself behind.

I had taken a picture of these rocks and water in Wales on the photography trip. Then, at home I took a picture of myself and dressed up as a fairy to edit onto the Wales photo. Firstly, I uploaded the picture on the beach onto photo-shop. I then opened up a new layer, in which I uploaded the fairy picture of myself onto. Next, I cut out the fairy from its original background. After this, I faded out the fairy slightly and blurred the edges. I then created another 2 layers, this is where I copied and pasted the fairy figures, and faded them even more as they got further away. Lastly, I changed the contrast on 'PicMonkey' to make the pink dress even brighter.
